Skiatook Schools is accepting applications for Tier I Paraprofessional positions for the 2024-25 school year for openings at our elementary sites.  The district has three sites: Marrs Elementary (PK-1), Skiatook Elementary (2-3) and Skiatook Intermediate Elementary (4-5).  We are looking for candidates to be a part of our Bulldog family that are energetic, positive and have a love for students.  The start date for these positions will be August 5, 2024.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  An Associate Degree or 48 hours of passing College Credit or have passed the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET) ; ParaPro Test or  WorkKeys Test. MUST PROVIDE OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION.   Individual must stand and walk up to seven hours.  Good people skills are necessary to positively impact the student’s learning environment. Job requires occasional bending/stooping/squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling.  Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds.  Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.  Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents.  The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.

WORKING HOURS: 7 hours daily

 

REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Supervises and assists students individually and in groups in an instructional capacity.
  2. Grades papers and prepares instructional materials.
  3. Performs clerical duties related to the classroom.
  4. Supervises students outside of the classroom.
  5. Prepares bulletin boards.
  6. Assists students on computers.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.
  8. Administer, scores and records tests.
  9. Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
  10. Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
  11. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully-licensed teachers.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
